“Jesus is the LIGHT of the world”

Our Ministries

+ expand all

Our church believes in a celebrative worship style. We also appreciate a blended worship approach with deacons preserving the great traditions of the Black Baptist Church while other choirs tastefully and enthusiastically usher the worshiper into the modern era with its contemporary musical presentations. Our mission for worship is to please the King. Our congregators enjoy the musical contributions of the legendary E. N. Bates Choir and our newly formed GSBC Youth Choir.
We take seriously the Great Commission Given by Jesus to make disciples of all men. Our mission is to reach the sinner and equip the saints. Therefore, we provide the following discipleship ministries.

Children’s Church
Children's Church is designed to minister to children 3–5 years of age allowing worshipping parents to concentrate on the Word of God. During the worship period the children are taken to their own special worship area. The children enjoy arts and crafts along with special music and Bible lessons.

AWANA Children and Youth Ministry
AWANA Children and Youth Ministry is designed to ground our children and youth in the scriptures. Weekly meetings include, games, scripture quizzing, workbook assignments, and fellowship.

Sunday School
Sunday School is a time tested tradition designed to teach Christians of all ages the basics of the faith.

No man is an island; and the church's fellowship ministry mission is to provide a loving, nurturing community for every race and economical condition.
A church that is so heavenly minded it is no earthly good must be avoided. Therefore, we are strategically target our outreach and charity ministries toward the most critical needs in our community. The church adopts an area school to support every year. Previously adopted was Woodmore Elementary and Barger Elementary Schools.

Shepherd Table
Free Meal Every Friday from 11am – 2PM.

“For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.”

Then these righteous ones will reply, “Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? And the King will tell them, I assure you, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!”
Matthew 25:31–40 NLT
